The video is called The VD Song. Even though it was a little silly, it actually displayed a lot of true information. It says what the term STD stands for. It said that you only need pills to get rid of syhpilis and gonorrhea, but herpes can't be cured. It also says to go to the doctor if it hurts to pee, something is itching, or something is dripping. I dont think this video really used fear, just basic information and facts that many people already know. The age group I think it's aiming at is highschool students to young adults. This is because it mentions things about sleeping with the entire football team and sharing the same needle tattoos. I think it has some effective ways because its funny and actually uses terms most young adults understand. I think the media and general advertising can play a big role in the prevention of STI's. People watch a lot of tv these days. If they have more commercials explaining the symptoms and how easy it is to get tested, more people will get tested. More people getting tested means less people spreading it.

  1. I agree. Viral videos are huge for our generation and a great way to spread a message, even one about STDs. Not to mention, the ones that are humorous, such as this one, tend to get spread around amongst friends, family, and coworkers for a good laugh. Nice video pick!

  2. after watching the video i agree that they are probably targeting the younger age groups. it was really funny and i also don't think that they used fear as a tactic. They instead used facts and comedy to get the message across
